Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Check
It’s all about peace of mind
When you entrust the care of your child to someone you have only just met, it’s imperative you are confident that your potential employee is a suitable and trustworthy person.
That’s why, at CLICK nannies we expect all our candidates to be able to produce evidence of a recent police check – a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check if from the UK, or foreign equivalent if they have recently come from abroad.
If they have Ofsted certification, Ofsted will have carried out the check prior to certification.
You should expect nothing less.
What if there’s a great nanny but no check?
In the unlikely even that a candidate has neither an Ofsted certificate nor a recent CRB or police check, then CLICK nannies will encourage them to obtain one immediately, and will even help them to do so. As a responsible agency, we believe the check should be done before the candidate is employed, even if this might delay the start of the employment process.
We will of course inform you at the outset if a candidate has not been able to produce evidence of a recent check, and explain what we are doing to remedy the situation.
How long do checks take?
Checks can take up to 12 weeks (if, say, the candidate has been living abroad or had many previous addresses in the past 5 years) but are usually completed in around 4.
